About Me
Hello and welcome! I’m Gina, a woman in her 30s who travels primarily through places that don’t always make the top of the ‘must visit’ lists and that’s exactly why I love them.
Over the years, I’ve traveled mostly solo across the Caucasus, the Balkans, South Asia, and beyond, spending time in countries like Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Albania, Bosnia, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. These are destinations that are rich in culture, history, and hospitality, but often misunderstood or overlooked, especially when it comes to solo female travel.
I started this blog to share what travel in these places actually looks like. I began as a strict budget traveller and in many cases I still stick to the cheaper options but I now sometimes opt for the easier option which usually costs more. I do however research both and like to share the different options that are available.
Most of what I write focuses on:
Solo female travel realities - safety, confidence, boundaries, and vibe
Lesser-covered destinations in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, the Balkans, and South Asia
Transportation, logistics, and everyday travel decisions
Budget vs mid-budget choices and when spending more is worth it
I don’t believe every destination is for every traveller but I do believe that with the right information, curiosity, and self-trust, many of these places are far more accessible than they’re made out to be.
